In Quebec, every owner of a vehicle with a gross weight of more than 4500kg, must do a complete mechanical inspection of his road vehicle every 6 or 12 months, depending on the type of vehicle, in order to obtain a vignette of conformity certifying the safety of the vehicle;
This mechanical inspection is a visual inspection of the main components of the vehicle by an authorized SAAQ representative.
